Instal PhoenixUSBPro in you PC. Dont know why but you have to use an USB HUB between your tablet and PC.
    Disconect tablet (Power OFF)
Open PhoenixUSBPro and load img and Key, when you see a green circle hit START. Then conect the tablet (Power OFF) to PC whith USB Cable.
Then press volume + and at the same time press POWER about 10 times (or just until the software recognize the tablet and instal a driver. Now you can release the volume +. Tablet will update, just wait a feew minutes. It is normal the first boot take a long time.
I hope I have not forgotten anything.

Right now I'm having trouble downloading the file from the Chinese site. If someone can get it first could you please upload it to a faster server?

It seems they changed the tool to update the firmware. Now they used PhoenixSuite, but i think the procedure will be similar.

    Dear mml78,
I updated the firmware tool PhoenixSuite to version 1.0.5 which is in English, when I try to update the firmware and select the firmware dated 23rd Jan 2013, I get the folllowing error.

    Open firmware failed! Couldn't Upgrade
1)Version of firmware is too Old
    2)Firmware format is broken
3)The firmware is used by other application

I have not connected the tablet, just trying to load the firmware as per the instructions. I have no USB hub connected.

    Thanks

    Punit

Remove all chinese caraters in your img you try to load. This should fix the problem. (rename the file to something like this Chuwi23012013.img)

    Dear mml78,
Thanks a lot, after removing the Chinese characters PhoenixSuite recognizes the firmware. One final question, is it absolutely necessary to connect a USB hub between the tablet and the PC? have you or any other forum member has tried updating without the USB hub? I am asking this because I just got my tablet with firmware dated 5th Jan 2013 and I do not have a USB hub.

    Thanks

    Punit

For the latest PhoenixSuite i think you do not need the USB HUB.

If you use the front doors, try the ones from the back in your computer.

    Dear mml78,
I am using a Laptop, I tried through all three USB ports of the laptop, my system runs on 32 bit Windows 7. I cannot understand what I am doing wrong. Still Phoenix Suite is not recognizing the tablet.

    Thanks

    Tablet should be disconected.
    Open PhoenixSuite and load img.
Press the home button, conect usb cable (try with HUB and without HUB), press the power button a few times until the PC recognise the driver.

    Dear mml78,
I followed the instructions provided by you albeit I had read them in slatedroid first. I thank you once again for your help, I hope the Chuwi community grows in Vondroid. I was able to update the firmware without a hub.
