    This is a small manual how to flash and root the new China Retina Tablets

    Chuwi V99, Cube U9GTV, Yuandao N90 FHD, Visture V4 HD
    i proceeded with my Yuandao N90 FHD like that
    First, you need the following files, i upload them all to my dropbox where you can download them
    - RK30_Driver
    - RKBatchTool
    - Root-Tool (ZhuoDaShi)
    - Image (i flashed the VISTURE V4 HD FW 20120928 because for me its the only real stabil ROM at the moment)
    >>>big big thanks to Josef O. for the pictures<<<
    1.
    - Shut down your tablet (not only standby)
    2.
    - Open your device manager (the pics are in german language, but I think it is still evident) , to see if new devices are detected
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    3.
    - Now you have to bring your tablet into "flash-mode"
    ---> connect USB (pc - tablet) , press and hold the volume up key and then connect the charging cable
    the display would be still dark, but on your device manager you will see that new hardware were recognized
    4.
    - Now you have to install the driver
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    - If all went well, you will see the RK30 device in your device manager
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    5.
    - Now the drivers are installed and we can finally flash our tablet. Start the flashing tool (RKBatchTool (Vido Batch Tool)). If the driver is installed correctly, the box with the "1" inside would be green.
    ---> Choose the firmware you want to flash , example "update.img" , and then klick on the "Restore" button
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    - if all goes well you will see the following and the tablet starts in the android surface
    [IMG]
    6.
    - Now the Firmware/ROM is flashed and you can adjust settings, delete chinese apps etc...
    <----------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
    HowTo flash a CFW
    >>>big big thanks to darkrickpr for the CFW<<<
    1.
    - download 7.zip (is on my DropBox) , you need this tool to decompress the image
    - download the CFW (is on my DropBox) and decompress with 7.zip
    2.
    - after decompressing you find the tool RKAndroidTool in the CFW folder , and start it
    - now you will see following
    [IMG]
    - first of all please uncheck the kernel before flashing
    - after that, you have to choose the "recovery.img" (included in the decompressed folder/rom)
    - finally klick on the "flash Rom" button
    ---> ROM informations <---

    How i root my tablet
    (assume no liability , your own risk ;) )
    1.
    - First you have to install ZhuoDaShi. Because everything is in Chinese, just follow the pictures
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    2.
    - activate the "debugging mode" on your tablet
    3.
    - now we can start to root. Open ZhuoDaShi and follow the pictures because everything is in chinese.
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    4.
    - now your tablet is rooted. If you use a newer version of ZhuoDaShi, they may be installed chinese apps during the rooting process. But do not worry, you can simply delete them :D
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    How to improve play store compatibility

    1.
    -the play store and framework have saved the old settings from the Build-Prob in the cache, so you have to delete them.
    ---> go to settings --> Apps --> All --> choose the google play store --> clear data --> force stop an then reboot your tablet.
    2.
    - next you have to download the "Build.Prop editor" from the play store to adjust your "Build.Prop“
    [IMG]
    - Adjust the following entries
    ro.product.brand=Google
    ro.product.name=nakasi
    ro.product.manufacturer=asus
    ro.product.model=Nexus 7
    ro.sf.lcd_density=240
    ro.product.locale.language=de (or us)
    ro.product.locale.region=DE (or US)
    - after editing the "Build.Prob" you have to reset your tablet (factory reset)
    - just open play store after reboot and registry with a new account
    - After that, your tablet has fully taken over the nexus settings, now you should have a better play store compatibility
    For me it's work fine and all my games , i've tested so far , run without any problems.
    >>>big big thanks to Nikolas for the note on the factory reset<<<

    How to install CFW on your Retina Tablet

    - download the "CWM Retina Tablet" file from my dropbox and extract the file
    - start the RKAndroidTool
    - uncheck the "USB debugging" (settings-->developer options-->USB debugging)
    - follow the numbers :)
    [IMG]
    Now that your tablet is in CWM mode, you can copy a CFW (rom.zip) on a sdcard and install it
    ---> before flashing a ROM, you have to do some steps to prepare <---
    1. wipe data/factory reset
    2. format /system (Mount and Storage Menü)
    3. wipe dalvik cache (Advanced Menü)
    4. install zip from sdcard --> choose zip from external sdcard --> choose and install your ROM
    5. reboot system now
    6. enjoy your new installed ROM :eek:)
    I would recommend to use a app like Quick Boot (Reboot) so you can boot your tablet in recovery mode without RKAndroidTool ;-)
    please use this links to support a bit
    I will host there some CFWs. I've just started, so be patient.
    I think it makes no sense to upload the OFWs, because they are just to
    flawed and unstable.

    So the change in the build.prob is not accepted?

    hello
    I also had problems to save the changes in the Build.Prob with some editor apps, but with the version i've postet (look at the icon) it works fine for me.
    I think the real solution for the play store comes with an Android CFW that based on an US Version and not at a chines one.
    We have to wait for darkrickpr, he received his N90 FHD in a few days, then he would make a CFW. be patient ...

    Thats not a flashing problem, that's a chinese android version problem ;)
    No chinese android version would support a facebook app ;)
    Thats why we have to wait for a US based version.

    Yes , first i flash The N90FHD with cube firmware , then rooted , then install buildprop editor , edit the settings as google nexus , (at this point google play has limited results) Factory reset , added a new gmail account / and then play store was fine

    Ok, i will try it later and if it works, i edit my post.
    Thank you for the note.

    EDIT: OK, the missing factory reset was really the problem. After that, he has fully taken over the nexus settings and now everythink works fine.
    Big thanks ;)
    I will edit my post a bit later
