It's based on the official 2013 release from Hyundai, however I can't say where it came from - it was provided by iPadAlternative (the place I got my X900 from).

Wow, after playing around a bit the 'Retina' thing really is just for sales. The biggest problem with all Rockchip tablets is the lack of development and support from Rockchip.

I'm not very experienced with tablets, but what is the point of Flash/Rooting a tablet?

The most OFW's don't working well, that's the reason why many users flashing a CFW ;)
To root the device has the advantage to use some special Apps but it's treated with caution.

Oh okay thanks. If I just want to upgrade my firmware, do I need to flash/root my device? Also, do I need to get the previous firmwares or can I jump to the firmware for the Chuwi V99? I found it in the other thread, the firmware update for Jan 30th, I can just download that and put it on my tablet or? On my tablet (got it last weekend) it supports bluetooth but there isn't an option there so that's why I've come here for a firmware update hopefully will enable the option for Bluetooth and 3G

    Which driver do you mean?
There are drivers in my DropBox or in the ROM - package.

I ve been reading the root method mentioned here.

The is a way easier way of rooting these tabs once cwm is installed.

    Copy
    SU-Busybox-Installer.zip to sd card

boot to cwm and install this zip. Done.

When I wrote the instructions, there was no way to use CWM ;-)
Since CWM is supported, everything is much easier than at the beginning.

Should we move all Retina devices to the Retina forum on VonDroid? I'm not entirely sure which models differ etc so if there is someone out there who knows more about these devices.... well we're looking for a Moderator for the Retina area of VonDroid.

    :)

    Hello
I just bought the Chuwi V99 and I found out that it has problems with :
Wlan ( low signal unless I come very close to router) site comes up very slowly
I needed to shut it down 5 times in 2 days because it stacked.
activating camera APP caused the tablet to stack.

    My version is 4.1.1

does any one has any good experiences maybe with another software version?

    Hi Sajet.
Maybe you can help me with my latest problem.
I have a Visture and I flashed and rooted all as you said and all works fine.
One problem: I cannot make bluetooth work, all devices can pair but not connect, actually i cannot see the icon become blue, it stays grey after launch of bluetooth option.
So, for example, a bluetooth headset is recognized, paired but then the connection does not occur.
Other example: a PC is paired but when i ask the PC to connect it says that the connection was refused.
Can you help please? Thanks in advance

if your notebook don't recognize your tablet, use moborobo to install the drivers.
