As we all know, mediatek does a good job with their SoC the new mt6592 octa core is up now and also the mt6582 and mt6572 are really cool. I have the news for you...

Mediatek is working to bring up a new 12core SoC. I don't know when, but, it should come. Think they try to reach Samsung.

Also Samsung itself uses mediatek SoC for their budget smartphones now. How funny...

I exepct Mediatek to be a winner in 2014 - there seem to have good or descent designs and also the capabilities to deliver competitive products...
While a octa core A7 in a phone seems to be almost ridiculous - but it is taking the market by storm...it seems...

Never mind the ARM faction is making jumps in the core count all the time...not too long ago 1Ghz single core were top of the hills...
but only a few years later it feels so old...last year quads..and this year octa...

Mediatek even got an updated version of their MT6592 called MT6592T (how surprising^^) now that works at 2gHz instead of 1.7gHz.

..but I guess Mediatek is still on the rise (looking at 6752,6573 or 6795) - nevertheless it is still not up there where Qualcomm is.
Just the see the range of new phones... from the major players in the market - most come with Qualcomm's new 64bit chips.

But 2015 will a few interesting SoC designs... as we are already looking at the 2nd generation of 64bit ARM SoCs.

Well..that;s amazing..if that comes true but..honestly a benchmark monster no doubt but other than that it remains to be seen how it feels in everyday use.
