It looks good... would anyone recommend this tablet?
Put it into a 8" size (or 7,85") class - and I would really consider buying it.

I am sure about MALI T760MP2 though which seem a bit on the low side (Yes, MTK8752 is not meant to be high end)..can it handle a retina display?

Has anyone seen this in the wild?

    2x Cortex-A72 ('2nd' generation 64bit ARM) + 2x A53 + PowerVR GX6250 = MT8173 @28nm?

This big.LITTLE architecture A72 based quad-core (while a deviation of give me more cores) might prove to do quite well in the tablet market (I doubt it will touch the performance crown).
I am sure it will offer reasonable performance at a decent price for the upper mid and lower-high end market in the tablet space. Surprisingly it sounds like it will be still be ironed in 28nm.
At least I expect it to better or have a wider adoption than the MT8125 and MT8135 SoCs for the tablet space.

Is there any list of the upcoming MT6572 / MT8752 tablet devices be found somewhere?

    I would be interested.
    Thanks,

Hey guys, I figured out how to update to V1.7 after the fact changing the partition. Be warned it may remove root. However it can be easily restored with the other zip that I will include. I would suggest using the TWRP recovery which works best with our phone. I'm also using the boot.img from the Russian Rom 1.3 root. Either way like always, backup your stuff first. And yes, go from 1.6 to 1.7
