    Mk808B Clone
    Hi there!

I am new to this forum and came here because I have problem to flash a working firmware to my MK808B Clone. On the PCB it says: Netxeon MK808B_V3.0_2013.09.12 and I did not backup the original firmware..

I have downloaded the official firmware from www.netxeon.com and flashed it with Rockchip Batch Tools 1.5. Everything looks OK and there are no error messages, but the unit will not boot. I have also tried some Finless roms, no problem to flash with the included flashing tool but the unit will not boot.

    So far I have tried:
Official firmware: Only blue LED, nothing else.
Finless 2.1: Two penguins in upper left corner, nothing else.
Finless 1.7: Google TV logo, nothing else.
Finless 1.7 Sunvel clone, nothing happens.

Am I doing something wrong when flashing, or is my unit somehow broken?
Can anyone please point me to a rom that will work with my android stick. I have tried to download a firmware that the aliexpress seller recomended me, but the server is slow and it keeps aborting the download.

I would really be glad for some help before I throw this stick away, attached you will find some pictures of the clone.

Connect it to Full HD TV (1080), when it works, change the resolution to 720

    Good luck

Thanks for your reply KerHac, but that is not the issue.

It is connected to a full HD TV and only one of the ROMs I tested was a 1080 ROM.

Really important, which WiFi Chipset you have, I can only read MEdiatek... should be 6931 or something.Normally every RK3066 ROM should boot for MK808B but without WiFi and BT. Maybe you need to know which Kernel was on the Original ROM first... But WiFi should also be important.

Your Flashing Method was correct. This is maybe Kernel related, because of not booting.

I have the Mediatek chipset, but as I thought the same as You that it would atleast boot with the wrong chipset ROM. I normally run Linux but have a WinXP partition on my laptop that I have used for flashing. Now I have found a tool for Linux: RkFlashKit.

One thing that I am wondering about is why the finless ROMs are divided in bootloader, kernel, system etc inmages. The ROM I downloaded from the manufacter was one big img file. What is the correct way to falsh if?! When I flash finless under windows and reads the MK808B in RkFlashKit under Linux it finds all the different NAND partitions. When I flash the manufacters img file with Rockchip Batch Tools 1.5 in Windows and then read it with RkFlashKit it does not find a single partition. This must be wrong?

If I want to flash my big single img file from the manufacter I have to choose an existing partition to write it to.

    Any ideas?

No, this is OK. It only depends on which tool you use. I prefer XP for flashing. Both ways are possible.

I would not use Linux tool. I personally use Mac and Linux, but for flashing only 32bit win XP.

Please upload the Linux tool for me to test directly here...

I can continue to use WinXp for flashing, just a bit strange that the linux program did not find a single NAND partition.

So, You think that there is no problems with my flashing. Then it must just be a matter of finding the right ROM. I managed to download the ROM that the seller recommended, but that one did not work either. The ROMS from the seller and manufacter are one big img file, is there another way I can try flashing these? Otherwise I have run out of ideas.

Yes, as you said this is crazy.
I also thought this can be a false ROM but as you now say, it did not boot up with the Original... ?!
First, the flashing with XP on your Screenshot, did not have any Errors, so this is not a NAND Problem, it works, because if not, the flashing could not be ok.
You have tried much, but you can try the latest Batch Tool v1.7 here: http://vondroid.com/resources/rockchip-batch-tool.261/
If you don´t have Success, flashing the Sellers ROM, try to get a Refund from him, or send it back to get a new Device !
I know this is bad, but I´m also out of Ideas...
If this Device won´t boot, it is normally a Problem with the Bootloader or a Kernel Problem.

You can find Firmware for all Devices we provide Support at the Resources Section at the Top Menu !
But Note, MK808 is a Device, where many Clones are up on the Market, not so easy to find the right ROM.

Ok, as you are now 2 People, I will upload the ROM from netxeon to the Resources... if you giv me Permission to use your Pictures and you tell me if that ROM works for your version, would be cool @mapa2014. I will do a new Resource now, be Patient for a while...

Does your Device work this Time or not ?!

Note: The ROM I can provide you is from netxeon itself for the MK808II as this should be the B Model. I can´t test it myself. So everything you do is on your Risk.

But if you test it and it works, this can help other Users.

    Flash Notes:
ERASE IDB NAND before every Flash !
Use RESTORE to flash a ROM not Upgrade !
