I extracted my rom, extracted and built my system.img, but now when I go to build rom it says "Uncorrect firmware folder". I didnt move anything, its still in the temp folder. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Hello Sergio, I made sure that there were only english letters in the address. At first I could not open my firmware, then I noticed that there was no MD5 checksum at the end of the file. I added this and it extracted without problem. Could this be the reason. Also I have your tool in C and the firmware on D, could this also cause the problem?

Edit: I put your tool in D:\rk3xxx\ and renamed the firmware to update.img and also put it in D:\ but the same error appears when I try to build image. Also I can not open project, it always says incorrect project folder. Maybe this is connected?

    Sergio, great tool!

One question: I am trying to use the kernel logo replacer. I can succesfully open the existing kernels logo and see it, but when I go to open the ppm I created in Photoshop, it says:

Edit logoimg mode for ASCII format PPM
    Error open logo file

What is the best way to get a working PPM format which the program can read and replace the old image?

I notice you said you need 244 color pallete and ppm saved as ASCII but im not quite sure what that means!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Using GIMP, I was able to force it to PPM with ASCII encoding and 244 colors. I ran the replace tool and it said "more than 224 colors" a couple times then "completed". The resulting kernel is over 500 mb, where as the original kernel img was about 12 mb. And then when I open it up again (to see what the kernel logo is now) its back to the old one.

    Some help please!

Alright an update (i figured id make a new post instead of editing again the post above):

In order to make a splash-logo-friendly PPM, you need to do the following in GIMP (photoshop does not seem to provide the right tools):

    1. Force your image to 224 (not 244!) or lower(?) in GIMP by going to Image>Colors>Indexed Colors and manually typing in the 224 figure into the color palette.

    2. Export to PPM. When it asks RAW or ASCII, choose ASCII.

The resulting PPM should be compatible with Sergios great tool!

I am new to this excellent tool and I am still learning. Can someone help me with a simple task, I want to increase my app storage on KitKat 4.4.2. I thought this was going to be easy with this tool and it is,but when I reflash my ROM with RKTool 1.37 I still get the old values on app storage. I have now 2Gb App and 4Gb userdata,I want 4Gb App store and 2Gb userdata. Is there anything in ROM that overrides the change parameter file?
Everytime I reflash with saved parameter file I get the old values, i am going crazy :)

    @SergioPoverony
Hi I am using your RK3xxx_firmware_tools_4.2.80.00 and happy with it. I have managed to tailor ROM for my PIPO M9Pro 3G with your tool. Thanks a lot.
But I am unable to unpack this PiPO M9pro_software_sms_3G_20131010 ROM with your tool. Can you help me?
