    Unbrick a Samsung S2 GT-i9100

    Hi y'all,

I hope you can help me - I own a Samsung S2 hand set - quite old - but it was still ok for me.
As the phone got slower and slower and the memory space was eaten up by some logging files(?) and updates were not possible anymore - I decided to run a custom ROM.

Switched to Cyanomodgen CM11 Kitkat 4.4.4
So I flashed Cyanomodgen CM11 (KitKat 4.4) - I liked it alright and also used the 'OTA' update feature - which I used on regular basis - but most I used snapshots rather then nightlies.
Nevertheless the update process stopped (before everything was put to a halt due CM12 development.

Play store stopped working due to backgroound data (which could not be turned on)
I was ok with it and did not pay much attention - as the phone was working ok. But it started to have a few problems here and there - most related to power consumption - but not that serious yet for me to really check out.
But I did experience problems with google's play store - it demanded background data to be switched on - but most times it still did not work.

Sudden death? Does not start anymore
Last night I tried to turn background data on...as the play store did also refuse to update the apps. No effect...ok. I used the phone a little more...and then bum... it turned off...I tried to restart no effect.

Recovery can not be reached anymore
I tried to get into recovery which I managed once or twice..only the see that nothing is working there as I could not select anything and the options were not shown and the touch screen was not working.
It was some kind of touch version - with the screen and keys not working quite useless.

    Tried to reinstall recovery
So i thought - well install a new recovery. I started off using Odin (various versions) and even heimdall... (on a windows machine and a linux machine), several cables, various USB ports and so on.
But it seems that neither odin or heimdall can write to it.

I used the Samsung download mode.

    Code:
    <ID:0/014> Added!!
    <ID:0/014> Odin v.3 engine (ID:14)..
    <ID:0/014> File analysis..
    <ID:0/014> SetupConnection..
    <ID:0/014> Initialzation..
    <ID:0/014> Get PIT for mapping..
    <ID:0/014> Firmware update start..
    <ID:0/014> zImage
    <ID:0/014> NAND Write Start!!
    <ID:0/014> Complete(Write) operation failed.
    <OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)

Writting to NAND fails each time
But when the process get s to 'Write to NAND' - after sitting still for quite some lengthy time - it fails- even time. The custom binary counter goes up - nevertheless. During the write attempt no blue bar etc. is shown on the phone's screen.
But since then - I can not enter recovery mode at all... at best it get suck at the first screen.

I tried various recoveries and even full firmwares - the result is the same.

    How to revive it?
Any idea what to do? Total brick? Should I start thinking about PIT !?
    Please help,

    Thanks,
    ATAB
