i think it might be it's just that the release date 22/8/2012 pre-dates the 4.1.1 #26 rom that we have all been using.
so maybe its an older-new one either that or its for the N101-2 as the camera flash distorts the image a little.

I'm fairly sure you'll need to have root to dump, i followed vorkosov instructions in the following thread to get root with the stock 4.1.1 rom
    http://vondroid.com/threads/we-have-jelly-bean.611/page-3#post-5393

then the best thing to do once you have it dumped is to pass it on to tuen so he can work his magic

    Hey guys.

I'm just figuring out this Tablet & it's potential. I got mine from Merimobiles.com, it's definitely & 1st version (has metal backing) & it came with Jelly Bean installed.

I'm yet to root the tablet because haven't finally decided upon which rom to use. My tab is running kernel #21 which I have read is not the best kernel, any opinions/advice please?

I've only got one complaint about the tablet & that is the Wifi signal, if I move to a room away from my router then it will not find my 30MB Virgin wireless router or if it does then it drops connection frequently making it unusable.

I've read about the hardware mod that can be done with new wifi aerial (i have ordered from ebay already) but was hoping to avoid opening up the device, please any suggestions?

    Thanks folks

I have one those antennas ready to install, but like you....I really don't want to open the case. What I did was get one of those wifi repeaters. I just plug it in close to wherever I'm at, and always get a connection. It is a pain to setup, if you change networks, but it keeps me connected.

indeed 4.1.1 is available, i'm downloading the OFW from yuandao site, and upload them later on the forum!!

    on yuandao download list:
    N101双擎-4.1.1-20120920-正式版固件

it looks like 4.1.1 from 20 september 2012? Strange...

Hey Tuen, are you aware of the kernel fix posted on Freaktab?

Does away with tone noise. It also helps performance.
