Can anybody help with this please?

I have a brand new MX1 that I would like to flash with the latest ROM. However I cannot get the device to be recognised in windows. I have tried all the settings for USB debugging, Connect to PC and storage mode described in this forum and others and I cannot get windows to regosnise there is a device plugged in. I have tried all three usb ports and two different PC's (both running XP). Can anyone help please?

Did you have correct Drivers installed? Maybe you should try a Win 7...
Put your Cable not into the Power, only connect with OTG Port !?

The problem is I can't get the pc to recognise the device at all to install drivers for it. I don't have access to a win 7 machine at the moment but will try this as soon as I can. I have tried only connecting with the OTG port as well and unfortunately no luck.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately didn't work after numerous tries and every usb port I could find. Must be something else but haven't found it yet. Everythung else works using that port so I don't think it's hardware.
