The VonDroid 2.1 (Android 4.0.3) installed for me, with Google Play, and apps working well (no longer crashing), including Google sync up of my couple hundred contacts (Outlook -> Go Sync Mod -> Google Contacts -> W718). Question: Looking about a week after install, I note "settings" -> "about phone" says it is Android 4.0.4 (not 4.0.3), as a newbie to smart phones I am curious: does this mean the OS did a minor update itself? The small issues I have seen: Beware USB micro cables "too thick plastic shroud" allowing "charging..." but not connecting to windows. Use original cable, or cut back plastic to get good connection and avoid hours of confusion about why USB connectivity is not working despite "charging..." With AT&T in US I do only get "Edge", not high speed connection (which I confirmed I do getting with same SIM put back in old flip phone). Still, it works pretty good with Edge - I can remote desktop fine. I also get no sound from radio, either through headphones or clicking the "speaker" icon shown in the radio app which I assume should make sound bypass the headphones while still using them as an antenna. Confirmed: web browser sound comes out of headphones, so it seems Radio app unique. Until I put in a SD card I was unable to take pictures as well. However, SMSBackupRetore wrote to the internal SD card, and it shows in ES File Explorer, so this may be Photo app specific. Thank you Tuen! An almost useless phone is now very good!
