Hi, I'm using this ROM for 2 weeks and I think its currently the best ROM for our Newman, anyway its long way to perfection. I was using it with original kernel setting and it was slow and laggy sometimes, so I decided to try kernel setting described in 1st post (with the Trickster app) and I must say its even worst, so I cannot recommend this setting.

Anyway thanx a lot for your time and hard work guys ;-)

    Hi Haldy,

Hi was thinking you were using Emotion Digma. That ROM could be laggy, because the max speed is set no 1200, no luz active governor....

The main characteristics of the Emotion Revolution are its speed and flexibility in configuration.

There's no lags at all for me.

Maybe a clean install of Emotion Revolution could fix your issues.

    Regards

    Hi Kinu,
i wrote my previous post (regarding the time zone bug) in the wrong thread, but I'm using Emotion Revolution v1 (anyway that bug is valid in most of the N2 ROMs).
I have installed about 80 apps and I wish to have no lags, but there is no way with current system. Its happening usually when I'm using apps with higher memory consumption (Facebook, Dolphin Browser, Google Maps, Swarm...) and sometimes its really terrible and I must hate this phone.
Clean install will not solve it, because I begun to use this ROM 2 weeks ago and all the apps were installed directly from the store, without any data restore (my primary phone Xiaomi Mi2s died, so I don't have any backups). Maybe I'm used to work with Mi2s which has much better HW and its not comparable with N2, but I think even N2 may work better with well tunned system and kernel. It has almost the same HW as Samsung S3, but the performance is much worst.

btw I'm trying your DTS fix and seems its working great, I will report after few days.

Thanks a lot for that, I really appreciate it ;-)

PS: I have also problem with low space in internal memory for apps (/data partition). When there is less than ~300MB free, apps from the store cannot be updated and new bigger apps cannot be installed. I would appreciate some patch to resize memory partitions - extend /data partition (which is currently 2,11GB) with the space taken from the /sdcard partition (user data - 4,4GB). I saw similar trick for Lenovo S750 - they modified EBR (Extended Boot Record) and permitted to use internal sd memory as a memory for the applications.
See this thread and search for Modified EBR.

    Hi Hadly,

I know how to repartition it, but it scares me! Really. If you fail to do so, you get an elegant brick. And you won't can install stock ROMs, because IMG format is set to a default partition size.

Try Link2SD. It works great for me before I were a tester. You have to repartition your SD, and set and ext2 partition and a fat32 one. If it is a fast SD you win speed too.

And, yes, S3 has 50%+ Ram, so this is not the same league ;-)

    Regards
PS: You can try too some kind of swap. I did it, don't remember how....maybe another forum member can help in this

For better speed results use greenify app(donate ver.) and put to hibernate all unneeded apps. It will always run as clean rom.

    Hi again,
I must confirm after some time, that Greenify really improved the performance and responsivity. Anyway I have one more problem since the beginning. I cannot play any video inside YouTube app. Its always loading for few seconds and then I get the error message that connection to the server was lost. After quick research with Google, I found that it may be caused by some adblocker, but I didn't find any installed in this ROM. Is there any system tweak of host file or something similar, which can cause this problem? Is there anybody else with this problem?

    Thx for response

I'm now testing a new release, but tomorrow I will install this version and try to reproduce that.

    Regards.
PS: And thank you for the greenify trick. I always use it. Gonna propose to install it as default in next release.

i have the some problem with facebook, but i didn't bother to find a solution. i don't use the facebook app so much and honestly speaking i gave up trying optimize anything on this phone.

But i still admire the dedication and perseverance of the brave Kabata, Kinu, PAF and the rest of the team. Chapeau Bas!

And for greenify, i told you guys about it last year.

Reverting to your facebook problem, try clear cache, data or even reinstall it. Also, if you have the this problem only when you are on 3G try to delete the proxy and port for you APN

    Hi,
yes, I found that too. For now I used Xposed module called YourTube which can force the resolution to predefined value.
