for my phone, I downloaded a version of clockwork recovery someone made.
I rooted the phone, installed clockwork and did a FULL backup of my phone
into an image I can restore at any time. Including all my apps and settings.

Is there a clockwork recovery for the N101T I can use to do this without
having to install a custom rom like vondroid or finless?

I asked bob who makes the finless rom and includes a clockwork recovery
    compatible with N101T:

"Is there a way to just install your clockwork recovery so that I can do a full backup image of my stock rom? (with my apps and settings intact) I have the N101T with Yuandao Rom 8/6/12 and it is Rooted."

    and his response:

"Yes you can try it but it might depend on what ROm your on and the parameter file mappings.
DOwnload my ROM and open the flash tool.
Uncheck everything except misc.img and recovery.img and flash those. CWM should be installed."

I have not tried it yet but will soon.

Thanks for this info, but I wonder if recovery backs up rom in external disk, since if you flash other rom you lose all data.
Also, to restore later this rom, how do you do it if the new rom that you flashed doesn't include Recovery?

    Unleashed from N101T @1.6Ghz

Nandroid backups are a feature of ClockworkMod, you simply can't restore them without CWM Recovery...

For the location I can't be 100% sure since haven't done Nandroid backups on the tablet, but most probably they will be located under sdcard/clockworkmod/backups. You can of course copy these with a file explorer to your external SD card or copy them to your PC.

Some kernels may put the location on the external card already, just look for the clockworkmod folder.

And what happens if backup creates corrupted files and you do not know it?
I have read that this happens sometimes with this tablet.

Produced by NookColor at ICS AOKP 4.0.4

I haven't heard of Nandroid backup making corrupted files in the N101, however anything can happen. But the Nandroid backup needs a FAT32 formatted SD card so you should have one only for that use, since it can corrupt the data if you copy files between the internal and external SD if the external one is not NTFS.

I would like to flash the new 4.2 test rom, but to keep my stable setup.
I havent tried before to make nandroid backup with my CFW 3.2 that I have.
So, my question now is, except sdcard, can I save the backup at external memory?
