Installed latest update 3.11.15 Everything running smoothly. No lag. If you install too many ram intensive apps which run in background, ofcourse there will be a certain amount of lag. Good rom overall. Best on N2 so far.
Hi All I do is go to system updates, let it download. Then reboot to recovery and choose install from zip. the file is in internal sdcard downloaded_rom ( I think ) Sometimes there may be errors when updating with cwm so you may have to manually remove some lines in the script. Here is a guide No app reinstalls. Maybe because I uninstall with titanium backup ?? Dont know!! Thats all!
I'm still running MIUI 3.8.30, but with exynos4bro's 1.1 MIUI V5 kernel. I have 3 Questions. 1. Will lag be less if i update to latest MIUI 3.11.15? 2. Can I update the ROM without doing data wipe (only cache wipe)? I have downloaded the full rom from here --> http://en.miui.com/thread-2651-1-1.html But I've also noticed I can download the rom from here -->http://goo.im/devs/ibotpeaches/miuiandroid/releases/3.11.8/miuiandroid_C8690_3.11.8_jb-4.1.zip The first ROM = about 200 MB The ROM from the second link = about 70 MB 3. Why the difference in space? Is the ROM from the second link an update file or is it an other ROM?
i think less lags with the later versions and the later versions from my experience, will automatically wipe data and cache so you make sure that you make backup of your apps before installing the new rom. the second link is for 3.11.8 but they will certainly upload the newer rom there. it is ofcourse faster than the link provided in the official website
Hey I downloaded the rom from here http://www.miui.com/getrom.php?r=42 There is no need to wipe anything when you are updating from miui to the latest version of miui. Your info will not be deleted by updating. However if you are changing your rom to miui u will need to wipe all. If you want to keep your apps and info I suggest u back up with titanium backup.
thanks all.. I've updated to 3.1.11.8 (and then OTA to 3.11.15) also upgraded to Turk Goldmaster 1 Antutu score with turk kernel is 17313 (3000 point higher then exnos4bro's 1.1 plus for miui kernel) Keyboard disappeared, but I have Touchpal installed anyway. So I don't bother install an android default one. I have the feeling lag is much better, but still not fully smooth. Picking up phone finally works better it seems. It seems that turk's kernel fixed my battery issue, but let's see if this remains. More testing is needed.
Hello If I will update from 3.11.1 to .8 I will flashing the Multilanguage pack again? Where is the Multilanguage pack for version 3 11 8 and 3.11.15? I'm Italian, sorry for my bad English Inviato dal mio Newman N2 utilizzando Tapatalk
Yes you need multi lang again. I could not find any for 3.11.8 and 3.11.15 but i don't mind having the rom in english only.
I have a question for all the MIUI users here. I usually have max 350 mb free of memory (with turk kernel that is 73% of the ram is occupied) I think this is quite a lot. what is your experience? Do I have to much running on the background I don't know about or is this normal memory behavior?
I have the same issue although on a different rom. I am using google edition rom. Might i ask which kernel you are using, that might be the common culprit?
http://vondroid.com/threads/collection-how-tos-noob-friendly.10478/ Try: 9.2. Battery charging issue.
VirusPlus updated MIUI v5 with a new update entry: 3.11.29 (MultiLang) Read the rest of this update entry...
Will this also be available as an update? Like using the updater on an already installed MIUI. The latest version according to the updater is 3.11.15 for my N2. I don't like to start from scratch again with all the wipes....
Im not sure but i think that you can install it without wipes like OTA.You can backup current ROM with CWM and try it! Latest OTA (EN-CN) update is 3.11.22
I installed it without the wipes. Luckily I made a MIUI backup (Titanium would have work to I think) before installing. After install most if not all of my apps were gone, but a MIUI restore fixed that. Only need to install the GAPPS now, as those are also gone.
