According to here Rockchip is no sitting still and has already plans to put a new generation of AMR chips in 2014.

A12 main feature might be that it should run about 40% faster than A9 - clock for clock. In addition the graphic is surely being upgraded to some thing like Mali624 etc.
It might come in fashon of single, dual and quad core configurations.

Well.. it became A17 these days:

Not so much of a change...other then the name... and since RK3288 as well MT6595 are talking A17 these days...that might become the real deal.
It is also said that it might offer up to 60% more performance... compared to a similar A9 based set up.

You are my SoC Guide... lol.
Nice to see that 32xx Series coming up. I love Rockchip and Mediatek ! These 2 are the best for me in China.

My Feiteng GT-H9500+ with the MT6589 SoC and 4 x 1.2 GHz runs really cool with about 12800 Antutu !
But I ordered a MT6577T Jiayu G2S now, because of the smaller 4 inch Screen, for me 4.5 is maximum !

Anyway, I like RK3188 at my T428, this is a real cool Device and if I got more Time to check my idroid:con Controller, the T428 could be a cool Android Game Station !

Looking forward for the RK32xx Series, keep me up to Date...

yeah...Mediatek 8 Core A7...has been in the news for quite some time now...
it supposingly produces some impressive benchmark results:
    http://www.gizchina.com/2013/07/23/1-7ghz-8-core-mediatek-mt6592-scores-29600-on-antutu/

But it needs to be seen..while promising..if regular usage pattern in a phone or tablet can harvest the performance...

I would expect the RK32XX's performance way superior to Mediatek OctaCore...but then again...the A12 product is still a thing of the future... while 6592 has been announced..

    Rockchip 3288 A12 or A17 ?? Quad w/ Mali T628
    [IMG]

Finally - although it seems to be a bit late but Rockchip will talk about the RK32XX at CES2014 - for now one name is given: RK3288.
A12 and quad sound a bit lame for a highend offering these days - but that needs to be seen.
But hold on ..it states A17 in picture...

    What is a A17? A typo ..I guess...

Sure...it is A12...I have never heard of A17 yet....
GPU - both solution exist ...T624 or T628... but I suppose it is the later Mali T628.

But actually both can be true..in the sense that the later like the former w/ a core count boost...

According to here - RK3288 will boost a Mali720 GPU. But feature wise it looks more like a Mali6XX GPU.
So while interesting... I doubt that this is true...

    ARM Mali-T764 in RK3288
    [IMG]

    A17 is a typo...it is a A12...

But if it is for real...needs to be seen..so far only 'benchmarks'...

Picked up the rumor that some tablet makers start talking RK3288...so we might see a few of them sometime soon.
True or not... Rockchip RK3288 needs a showing..before the end of Q1...to maintain Rockchip's position in the market...I think.

It gets more clearer... that RK3288 is not staying with the suggested Mali T72X basic version for the GPU.

Some in the web believe that A12 and A17 are not that similar..in the end:
With the DMIPS estimate ..A17 should serve a heavier punch that A12... by quite a margin.
But I do doubt it... as well as the release date of it... 2015... as other source claim that RK3288 might be released as early as March 2014...
    ..if that's all true...is everybody's guess.. really.

Cool, but I also think Amlogic is coming out from their Mouse Hole.. hehe.

Take a look at their new 802 Series... ! Really can become a Fighter against Rockchip.

    http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.ph...box-till-now-tronsmart-vega-s89/#.UwEhIV6IF6g

It really has no Problems with 4K decoding. Antutu is about 30000 and up...
It´s nice to see, that also Amlogic, for me, not the best in Performance but the best for 1080p this Time is now coming up with the first 4K TV Box.
Also nice AIO PCs with Android seems to come up with Amlogic SoC 2014 !

Nice, seems, this can be an interesting Year 2014 for us !

I´m waiting to see the Battle of those Manufacturers pushing themselves for better and faster new Soc´s !
