    Hi Guys.

Now I started to assemble my own little mini Case for Android mini PCs.
Don´t laugh, it´s only a 3 USD cheap Case of Wood but it does the Job it should.
Wood seems to be the best Material to work with and to have no WiFi Problems.

The Vision is to have a little Box, which every Android HDMI Stick fit into. Built Everything together, Power supply, USB Host, SD and microSD Reader, a Fan for Cooling the Device, a Ethernet Port and the Last Thing, some Sound Ports for Headphones and Microphone. And a little Voltage Control.

Also important for me was, to have the Cooling Option, so I put a 80mm Fan on the Top of the Case which blows directly into the Case to get the Heat out of it. For this I put some Holes on different Sides of the Case to cool the important Things, Android Stick, Power Supply, USB Hub.

Now its a Prototype of my Case. It´s not finished and every Day I have new Ideas..

Here are some Pictures what it looks like... Some Devices are not mounted into the Case and also my mini PC is not here, but the important Things are done.

I created a Picture Gallery here, for the interested Ones.
Here are all the Pictures from now....

I also want to put some LEDs into the Front Panel to check the State of Power Supply, Card Reader and so on...
This is not the End... Assembling goes on...

    ;)

Hi mrkus21...that looks great...what is LCD for? Voltage?
In the meantime, I got a new Belkin USB HUB with protection!

I am still waiting for parts to arrive :(

Yes the 7 segment LED display is for Voltage. I use a 4$ USB Hub without any Protection. You don´t need to have a Protection if all Devices are on the same Power Supply.
Just make sure you have enough Power. So my Power Supply got 5A stable for this, no Problems with that to Power the mini PC, USB Hub and the Fan. At my Power Supply I can adjust the Voltage from 4 to 7V, so I have now 5,2V but I have to test this with a HDD runnning on the USB Hub and a mini PC running Antutu at the same time, to see if the Voltage lowers down.

I wait for my Sound Stick, ordered a grren One like yours and ordered a New MK808, hopefully the MK808 would recognize the Sound and the Ethernet Parts !
On Friday I would like to get some LEDs into the Front Panel, to show Power Supply Status, and Card Reader Action.

I think MK808 would get a Fiinless Rom to overclock the Device to 1400 or 1600MHz to get full Power of the RK3066. Now I wait for the MK808, but that could take a while. Cooling is no Problem, I got the 80mm Fan mounted on Top of the Case directly over the Place for the Stick.

Today I Cut the Front of the USB Case and put it into my own Case.

For Pictures go to my Gallery.

Back again. Now I finished the Wood Case. Only need some LEDs tomorrow, the mini PC Device, the Sound Stick and some Cables.
Then I can put some Cooling Holes at the Case and a universal Holder for the mini PC.

    Back again.
After I closed all Holes with Silicone it seems, that the Silicone has killed the USB Hub. For now I have ordered a new Hub.

Luckily it cost only $ 4, which keeps my loss limits.
I do not know why, maybe because of the vinegar contained in Silicone.
That could have bridged the Voltage somewhere. I do not know?!

Well, there are probably times everywhere losses.
This doesn´t keep me going on with that Project, just takes a little longer now.
Since the replacement hub comes from China. This may take 4-5 weeks.

Since my mini PC has not been sent out from geekbuying, I have to wait now, too.

What we learn from this? Never use Silicone when Electricity is involved. !
Therefore I now have built a Cover for my Cardreader. This I have now glued on the front panel.
    ...

And I have now built in 2 LEDs over the HUB on the Front, One for the Power and One for the SD Reader activity !

silicone doesn't contain vinegar it just smells that way, it's caused by the curing process releasing acetic acid that causes the vinegar smell. it shouldn't conduct electricity either.

A hot glue gun is a modders best friend, as your first prototype you've done a great good job it would look real nice stained & lacquered. you could also wood burn a picture/logo on top with a soldering iron before lacquering.

Thanks, the Hub is gone... I´m getting a new one.

I´ve thought about the Wood burn thing, yes. Maybe a little Android on Top, lol. But first I wanna finish the hole Electronic Thing.
