    used tool Romdump: (Updated link)
    http://www.mediafire.com/?o8p6j90rrb369fk

use the following command to push the file to your tab and to run
    Code:
    adb push romdump /data/local/
    adb shell chmod 04755 /data/local/romdump
    adb shell /data/local/romdump
you will find a folder in your sdcard called romDump, just zip the whole folder and upload xD (zipped files should be around 160MB)

    edit:
    ADB tool that you need

    New tutorial:

you need a rooted device first before you can do it.
after you have rooted it. download the following app from play store called "android terminal emulator"
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ndroidterm
copy the romdump file to your sdcard and put the sdcard into your device.
copy from your tab the file to /data/local/ (use e.g. ES File Explorer (need root access))
change the permission of the romdump file (using ES File Explorer --> Hold the file --> Properties --> and change it to 755(rwxrw-rw)
open the installed android terminal emulator app
    use to following command
After you run that you can copy the whole folder in /sdcard/romdump to pc (using external sdcard, usb plug-in,...)

note: if you get a error about "cannot create /sdcard/romdump/..." this mean you need remove a file/folder in your sdcard that named as romdump

Re: How to dump current Rom

Hi Tuen, I did a dump of my original firmware today using romdump, I had to download it from somewhere else as your link is not correct, it has some other files not romdump.

This is the version I used downloaded from : http://android.podtwo.com/romdump/romdump_v82b.zip.

Now to flash newest firmware . . .

    Questions !!!

I connected my N101 to my pc and now I can use it as a USB storage,i just got my tablet and have NOT installed anything, no drivers nothing.

I have downloaded the mediafire file but what do i need to do now? Where is the guide?

1)The mediafire file is in my pc, do you want me to copy to the N101? and if yes where? do i need to create any folders?
2)How do I use the above commands?

Re: [Sticky] How to dump current Rom

My pc sees the N101 as a usb called N101DC, is this the correct set up? I have not set debug etc. I can not see any file called data, do you want me to create it? The only folders my N101 has are:

    bluetooth
    etouch
    RMS
    iReader
    TXT
    DCIM
    Android
    wowResource
    .android_secure
    LOST.DIR

PS I dont have an sdcard or rooted my device yet......... just letting you know
thanks for your help tuen!!! :p

I've see you receive them from eternal team.
It seems it has the same batch as elijah (same kernel version).

Re: [Sticky] How to dump current Rom

    Hi everybody.
I used romdump on my original rom (from eternal team) and got the files saved on my pc.
I've flashed the vondroid rom (v3) but now i have no HDMI output, and when the HDMI cable is connected my tablet freeze and i have to shut it down.
I want to try the HDMI connection on the original rom so how can i restore it using my romdump files?

first of all thanx for the VERY quick reply.
I don't know which kernel i got of the original rom, but i ordered it on the 12/7 and it was shipped on 13/7.
is it possible to check the original kernel from the romdump files?
    thank you

Re: [Sticky] How to dump current Rom

    Does hdmi worked before?
maybe try to flash to an older kernel: viewtopic.php?f=79&t=424
and reflash then back to Vondroid_V4 (new name: CFW VonDroid N101 v1.4) viewtopic.php?f=80&t=491

Re: [Sticky] How to dump current Rom

    Hi Tuen
I didn't check the HDMI before.
I had the battery charge issue and flash problems and didn't have the HDMI cable, so i rushed into flashing a new rom...
Isn't it possible to restore the original rom from the romdump files?

I'm trying what you suggested - flashing old rom, then your new one. will update on result when finished.
    thank you

Re: [Sticky] How to dump current Rom

    Hi tuen
I did what you suggested, and it didn't work.
When connecting HDMI the n101 freeze or display becomes distorted (pixelized with various bright colors) in all FW, official and custom.
Because it mass up the n101, i guess it's not a problem with the depth of the connector.
I don't know what it is, but the bottom line is there is no HDMI.
I'll contact eternal team and describe this problem, and demand a replacement will be sent.
If there is any other idea i would be happy to try.
    thank you

Re: [Sticky] How to dump current Rom

The same cable works great with another tablet, so not a cable problem.
    I guess it's my luck - i got a malfunctioning tablet...
I'll update on the response of eternal team.

Have anyone had their tablet replaced by eternal team before?
It took the first one a month to get here.
I don't want to wait one month for my non-working HDMI tablet to get there and one more month for the (hopefully) perfect working new one to get here.
Any suggestions on how to handle it?

Re: [Sticky] How to dump current Rom

Will start from the bottom line - HDMI now works. :D
it took 6 roms to get there, including official and custom.
the winner is Finless 15a with 338 kernel.
i guess there was something really broken in the low level software, that the 338 kernel provided in the Finless 15a rom fixed.

now i will try to flash the Finless 15a with the 485 kernel and try the HDMI again.

    will update soon...
